Ticket orders are due by noon on Friday, September 6, 2024. The 7:00 p.m. ceremony is open to the public (no ticket required). On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the following individuals/teams will be inducted into the Watchdog Hall of Fame:
Dr. Chad Miller, an associate professor of radiology at Duke University, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the Academics and Achievement pillar.
Dr. Marilyn Carlson Aronson will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the Academics and Achievement pillar. After teaching in the district and earning Teacher of the Year Honors in 1976, Dr. Carlson Aronson spent her career in higher education in various roles. She remains active in our community through her church, by presenting during our 2021 Veterans’ Day day program, and by being a staunch advocate for the humanities.
Mr. Norm Twedt will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the fine arts pillar. Mr. Twedt served the District as a band instructor for 24 “noteworthy” years. Before joining Watchdog Nation, Mr. Twedt taught for one year at Hurley and nine years at Lennox.
The Bak Family will be inducted into the Watchdog Hall of Fame. The Bak Family has been a fine arts mainstay in the Beresford Community. Through their gift of music, the family team has shown devotion, contribution, and talent to our community.
Mr. Ted Lyle will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the athletic pillar. Mr. Lyle is among the school's most decorated and accomplished multi-sport athletes.
The 1987 Football Team will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the athletic pillar. The 1987 Football Team is Beresford's only football team to win a championship under the current playoff system.
Mike McGill will be inducted into the Watchdog Hall of Fame in the distinguished service pillar. Mike McGill’s work through the Beresford Area Foundation, a subset of the South Dakota Community Foundation, has had a lasting impact on our community. The Beresford Area Foundation has a fund balance of nearly one million dollars. Each year, the Foundation has a grant cycle that helps address community needs.
Pat McGill will be inducted into the Watchdog Hall of Fame in the distinguished service pillar. Pat McGill is a retired educator, leadership guru, dynamic speaker, mentor, and bundle of energy who positively impacts those around her. Pat McGill’s journey is one of inspiration, perspiration, and admiration. Pat McGill cultivates greatness in others.
